MAGNEX® 130 B

The MAGNEX® 130 B is used to locate ferromagnetic objects buried underwater on or in the seabed. Typical targets are bombs, shells, mortars, sea mines, parts from ships or entire wrecks. MAGNEX® 130 B is typically used in underwater EOD and by police.

OPERATION PRINCIPLE

The MAGNEX® 130 B is a passive iron locator, which detects and indicates local anomalies in the natural magnetic field of the earth. It applies the same passive-differential field strength detection principle as the bomb locators for land use.

The search equipment has three sensitivity ranges. In range 1 the MAGNEX® 130 B operates on a dynamic detection mode, on range 2 on a semi-static mode and on range 3 on a static mode. On range 1 and 2 the device automatically adjusts itself and does not require any further calibration or adjustment procedures. The static mode offers the largest detection range, which is depending on the magnetic signature of the target object.

Small ammunition such as 20mm shells will only be detected in the close vicinity of the locator probe while bombs or parts from wrecks may be detected from some meters distance.
