UPEX® 728

UPEX® 728 is a pulse induction metal detector with high detection sensitivity and ground compensation. It can be equipped with various search heads or large loops on land or under water depending on the detection job. It is an attractive development in the UPEX® family that has proven its worth in professional detection jobs.

It detects all metals, small nuggets, coins or deeply buried metal objects, which are difficult to reach using normal excavation tools.

CONSTRUCTION

The standard version of UPEX® 728 is delivered with the components mentioned under delivery contents.

Optionally, a large loop can be used as search head according to the detection job. The detector supports two different working methods:

  • Manual detection: standard use, audio and visual alarm signal of a detected metal object.
  • Mapping: computerized determination and documentation (optional) of metal contaminated areas.

OPERATION PRINCIPLE

The detector search head transmits electromagnetic fields which induce eddy currents into metal objects creating a secondary response field. This response field can be considered as an magnetic echo which will be received through the detector search head and fed to the electronics where it is converted into an audio alarm.

The UPEX® 728 is equipped with a ground compensation and with a pulse analyzing function (PA) which evaluates the conductivity of the detected object concerning its long or short decay time. The electronics indicate the different decay characteristics by an audio and visual signal. This provides useful information on the detected object to the operator and is also fed to the detector's data port (computer assisted evaluation).

The UPEX® 728 works according to the Pulse Induction Principle (PA) and can be used in the vicinity of saltwater without any interference. Due to the precise ground compensation it can be used
on non-cooperative ground (laterite soil, basalt, etc.).

The Pulse Analyzing Function (PA) analyses the object’s signature of the buried metal part which will be indicated by an audio and visual alarm as short or long decay time. The information received helps pinpointing the object.
