UWEX^® 725 K

The UWEX^® 725 K is a consequent further development of the well-proven UWEX^® 722 land & underwater metal detector. Improved detection performance and a wide auto-adaptation to interfering metal components characterize the new 725 design. The electronic design is based on the thousand fold proven EBEX^® 420 PB mine detector in service with the British Army. The UWEX^® 725 K is pressure water tested to 10 bar and comfortable to handle for the diver. It is operated by one adjuster only. UWEX^® 725K can detect shallow buried minimum amount of metal.

OPERATION PRINCIPLE

UWEX^® 725 K applies a dynamic mode pulse induction concept. Short, bipolar magnetic pulses generate detection signals from ferrous or non-ferrous metals and alloys. Target acquisition is indicated as visual or audible + visual alarm. The silent mode (LED only) improves safety on ‘smart’ munitions with acoustic sensors.

When used with a large loop search head of dimension ~800 mm, detection range on larger objects is significantly extended.

CONSTRUCTION

The UWEX 725^® K is a battery operated, pressure waterproof metal detector for underwater and normal land use.

It consists of a search head with joint which is flanged to the detector handle. The handle contains the electronics circuit board and the battery compartment. The only external operation element is the ON/OFF & sensitivity stepping switch. The headset socket and the alarm LEDs are placed at the square section of the handle.

Audio signals are transmitted to the operator by a single sided headset with flexible extension cable. The headset can be dismantled into spring clip, rubber cap and the signal device with connection cable. The detector can be operated in a normal mode with audio and LED detection signals or in a 'silent mode' without headset. In this case target detection is indicated only by the two alarm LEDs on the detector handle.
